In just a year, over 15 well-known foreign brands have come to the country, a business that keeps on growing. Shopping malls built on land for sale in Colombia during the past two years are the channels where the brands’ presence is more seeable.
Patrick Leret, representatives of EPKids, assures that despite the wide offer of marketing premises, a space is difficult to get. The company always expects to locate nice spots inside shopping malls and, he goes on, it enters in a competition over them against many wear brands for any kind of people. As to fast food, the supply gathers around pizzas and ice-creams. For instance, during the last two quarters of the year, Minimelts and Konopizza came to the country.
For 2007, many businesses are in sight. Chilean marketing chain Forus, specializing in wear, footwear and accessories, has Colombia in its sight. The company announced investments that vary between 40 and 50 million dollars for its expansion in Latin America, between 2007 and 2010. On its hand, Argentinian ice-cream chain Giangrossi plans to get to Colombia on the next year, through a master franchising, which means that it will count on strategic partners operating in each market.
