Pluzine

Plužine is a town in northwesten Montenegro. It has a population of 1,494 (2003 census).
Plužine is the centre of Plužine municipality (population 4,272) and unofficial centre of Piva region, named after Piva River.Plužine is located on a road connecting Podgorica and Nikšić with central Bosnia and Hercegovina.Thousands of people that rush from Niksic to Scepan Polje and Tara River for rafting, will only lay eyes on little town of Pluzine. The town was moved from original location, as well as Piva Monastery for the sake of building a hydro plant ‘Piva’. However small and humble, it is the center of a region rich in natural resources, Piva region. Mountaineers, people remarkable by their physical beauty, health and wittiness have lived here from ancient times. Today 5000 people live in a municipality that covers 858 square km. They are mainly involved in cattle breeding. The town itself could be a resting point before your adventures on Tara or discoveries of some other waters, unusual lakes and beautiful views. But the stay in this clear aired town is a benefit by itself.
