Plužine is the centre of Plužine municipality (population 4,272) and unofficial centre of Piva region, named after Piva River.Plužine is located on a road connecting Podgorica and Nikšić with central Bosnia and Hercegovina.Thousands of people that rush from Niksic to Scepan Polje and Tara River for rafting, will only lay eyes on little town of Pluzine. The town was moved from original location, as well as Piva Monastery for the sake of building a hydro plant ‘Piva’. However small and humble, it is the center of a region rich in natural resources, Piva region.
