Ulcinj
Ulcinj  is a coastal town and municipality in Montenegro. The town of Ulcinj has a population of 10,828 (2003 census), and it is the centre of Ulcinj municipality.It is a town at the farthest south of our coast, covering the space of 255 square kilometers with about 25 000 inhabitants. Its building started during the period of Greek colonization, so, even today, it is possible to find there parts of antique, byzantine, serbian, venetian, oriental and modern architecture.There is a well known Citadela, made during the period of roman domination. Among sacral monuments, church – mosque is especially interesting.Ulcinj has three large beaches, of which Velika plaza (Large beach) is about 13 kilometers long, covered with fine sand which contains large quantities of iodine and salt. Apart from ideal conditions for sun bathing, it serves for curing rheumatism and skin diseases. Among the beaches of Ulcinj, Ada, an island at the mouth of the river Bojana, has a special place. Beside tourism, The Salt works of Ulcinj is of the greatest economic importance.
